13 Year-Old Boy From Lynnwood Struck By Car | Seattle Car Accident Attorney
Shortly before 5 PM Friday night, a 13 year old Lynnwood boy suffered personal injuries when he was involved in a car accident while attempting to cross the street. The boy was attempting to cross Highway 99 near 148th Street SW with a group of pedestrians when he was hit by a car. He was immediately taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The driver of the car did not suffer any personal injuries. The tricky thing with this accident is that the boy was not at a crosswalk. The report states that the boy was waved across the street by cars who had stopped in nearby lanes and signaled that it was ok for him to cross. Unfortunately, the driver who hit the boy did not see the boy crossing and did not know why the other cars had stopped. Situations like this are all too common. We are currently working on a similar case where the pedestrian hit by the car was killed in the accident. Of course, it is always best for a pedestrian to use a crosswalk, however, sometimes that is not practical or possible. Drivers should always be extra vigilant when they see other cars slowing or stopping, even if they are unsure why.
