19 Year Old Charged with Aggravated Reckless Driving | Seattle Car Accident Lawyer

In November 2009, Joseph A. Brynda was involved in a car accident that sadly ended in a wrongful death. Brynda lost control of his 2008 Saturn sport utility vehicle, drove onto the curb and struck pedestrian, Phillip Rangel. Now authorities are saying that Brynda was both intoxicated and texting while driving at the time of the car accident.

The accident occurred in Illinois, on 80TH Avenue, near Tinley Park. Phillip Rangel, was just walking from his job in Tinley Park to the Metro Station when he was hit. The family described the victim as an avid environmentalist and runner. It is unfortunate that someone’s reckless and negligent behavior took an innocent man’s life.

This is not the first time Brynda has been caught driving recklessly. In 2008 and 2009, he received eight Will County traffic citations and was involved in a personal injury car accident less than a year ago. In the past, he has also been charged with retail theft and possession of drugs.

Prosecutors claim that Brynda was under the influence of Marijuana and Freon, a chemical compound found in air conditioners. He has been charged with aggravated reckless driving. His bail is currently set at $250,000 dollars.

It is unfortunate that eight traffic citations and a personal injury accident were not enough to halt Brynda’s reckless driving habits. Maybe a harsher punishment would have taken Brynda off the road, preventing this tragic accident. We wish the best for Rangel’s family.
