2 Serious Injuries in Auburn Car Crash | Kent Serious Injury Lawyer
My job as a Kent car crash lawyer exposes me to many tragic Seattle auto accidents and the serious personal injuries that result. Death and severe permanent injuries are all too common in auto accidents. Nearly 2 million car crashes in the United States lead to severe personal injuries that require immediate medical attention and 46,000 people die in fatal auto accidents every year. Sadly, an elderly Washington couple was sent to Harborview with serious injuries after an accident last week. At 7:00 pm on November 12th, an elderly man and woman, both in their 70’s, were involved in a serious car accident on Highway 18 in Auburn. The accident involved one other vehicle and resulted in the elderly couple’s car being turned upside down on the highway. Passing motorists called 911 and paramedics and firefighters arrived on the scene to pull the 2 passengers out of the overturned vehicle. The male driver was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center and the woman was transported by ambulance. They were both treated for life threatening injuries while the passenger in the other vehicle only sustained minor injuries. Many factors can play a role in nighttime auto accidents. The most likely factors in nighttime accidents are speeding, consumption of alcohol, low visibility in fog, rain and snow, and unforeseen obstacles on the road such as deer, dogs and cats. Drivers must be extremely cautious while driving after dark, following common traffic laws such as driving the speed limit and obeying all traffic signals and signs is important to reducing these incidents, but a driver must also pay close attention to his surroundings and be prepared for the unexpected.
