A Law to Ban Texting While Driving Fails to Pass in South Dakota | Seattle Car Accident Lawyer
By now everyone knows the dangers of texting while driving and many states are attempting to make the act illegal. South Dakota attempted to pass a bill in the House on Wednesday but it fell short of getting passed by four votes. The bill would have banned drivers from sending and receiving text messages, but not from talking on the phone. Opponents of the bill said that drivers face many other distractions besides just texting while driving. They also said the bill is a matter of personal rights and could be considered government interference. What do you think of the opponents’ arguments?
