Yesterday, another terrible drunk driving accident took place in King County. At 12:37 p.m., a driver crossed the median on I-90 and collided head-on with on another vehicle heading westbound near Preston, Washington. Preston lies to the east of Issaquah, Washington. The drivers of the two automobiles were immediately rushed to the hospital with life-threatening personal injuries.

The intoxicated driver, a 53-year-old woman from Newcastle, Washington, which is a suburb of Bellevue was driving a silver Acura eastbound in westbound lanes. It wasn’t just a quick crossing of the median into oncoming traffic either. The reportedly drunk woman continued driving down the road and was only stopped when she collided head on with a 29 year-old driving a Honda. Both drivers are now in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

This picture shows the sad and harsh reality of the devastation drunk driving can cause.

As if that image wasn’t enough to get you upset, it was found that the alleged drunk driver has a prior DUI conviction. It makes me sick having towrite about accidents involving drunk drivers. Because of an allegedly drunk driver’s poor judgment, another innocent auto accident victim is fighting for their life in critical condition. We wish a full recovery for all involved. We also hope that this drunk driver, as well as past and future ones are punished for their actions.
