Babysitter Faces Child Assault Charges, Claims Past Car Accident is to Blame | Seattle Car Accident Attorney

On Saturday, a babysitter was accused of violently shaking a 9-month-old infant. However, the babysitter’s family is convinced she is innocent and believes the child’s injuries are a result of a recent car accident.

The terrible incident occurred Thursday while Dotty Reed, 18, was watching the infant. She says she noticed the child wasn’t breathing properly and immediately called 9-1-1.

The child was taken to Seattle Children’s Hospital, where he is currently in very serious condition. Prosecutors say that if the child does not survive, they are ready to file homicide charges.

The Auburn officers also believe that Reed is responsible. They say the injuries appear fresh and do not believe they are from the car accident, which happened weeks ago.

It is still unclear who is to blame for the infant’s current state. The judge has ordered Reed to be held on $150,000 bail until the case moves forward.
