Each year, many lives are lost in auto accidents. Even after many years as a Washington car accident attorney and Bellevue wrongful death lawyer, it still pains me to learn of lives lost in car accidents.

In an effort to the help the families of those involved in wrongful death cases, my partner, Patrick Kang, and I have written a book called In Case of Death: Straight Talk on Washington Wrongful Death. The book is available for free to Washington residents, or it can be purchased through Amazon.com.

This weekend, a car accident in Bremerton took the life of an 18- year-old sailor stationed at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor. The tragic accident happened at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 10.

Mark S. Schroeder was driving south on Highway 3 when he lost control of his vehicle, crashing into a power pole.

Sadly, Schroeder died instantly at the scene of the collision. All three passengers inside the car were injured. They suffered only minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. Two have been released. There is no word on the current condition of the third passenger.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident.

We are very sorry for this tragic loss.
