Burien Fatal Crash Kills 1 | Seatac Personal Injury Attorney
Fatal auto accidents claim the lives of more than 60,000 people every year in the United States and over 2,000,000 more suffer permanent injuries that affect them for the rest of their lives. Being a Burien auto accident lawyer and Bellevue wrongful death attorney I see the devastating injuries and heartbroken families of these accidents far too often. What is truly sad about these deaths and injuries is that most of these accidents can easily be prevented if drivers simply follow the rules of the road. A three-car accident late last week took the life of an elderly woman and injured two others because one driver failed to obey a traffic signal. The accident occurred on Friday, January 28th in Burien at the intersection of Ambaum Cuttoff South and Southewest 160th Street. A 61-year-old woman from Des Moines was driving a Dodge Dakota East on Southwest 160th Street when she ran a red light smashing into a 1994 Pontiac Bonneville driven by an 81-year-old woman. The force from the accident sent the woman’ s car smashing into another vehicle. She was rushed to Harborview Medical Center, but died from severe injuries. The driver of the Dodge was also taken to Harborview where she remains in serious condition. The driver of the third vehicle hit in the accident was taken to Highline Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Though defensive driving courses offer huge success in lessening the occurrence of accidents- in incidents such as these there is little the victims could have done to protect themselves. In these incidents when an innocent bystander suffers from another driver’s negligence it is important to retain an experienced personal injury attorney to represent your case. If you have suffered from a negligent driver read my FREE book “The Truth About Washington Auto Accidents” it covers what will happen in a lawsuit, who will pay for your injuries, the top 10 secrets insurance companies don’t want you to know and whether you need an attorney at all.
