Bus Accident After Sounders Game Leaves 2 Dead, 21 More Injured
Holiday weekends are supposed to be a fun time for families to relax and catch up on their sleep. But as a Seattle personal injury lawyer working at a Washington auto accident law firm I know that holiday weekends are also some of the most dangerous times to be on the road. Auto accidents tend to happen at a much higher rate during the holidays. A tragic accident Saturday afternoon left 2 dead and 21 others injured. Passengers aboard a charter bus headed for Moses Lake were coming back from a Sounders game in Seattle when their bus crashed into the back of a stopped vehicle and rolled over on I-90. 51-year-old Ciro R. Astudillo and 45-year-old Virginia Ocamposoriano, both from Pasco, died in the accident while other injured victims were taken to Harborview Medical Center and Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. Jeffrey R. Irmer was parked on the side of the road on I-90 when the bus slammed into the back of his truck. Irmer suffered critical personal injuries and had to be airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. As of now there is no known cause for this disastrous auto accident, and Washington State Patrol are still investigating the crash. It is crucial to remember just how dangerous the roads can be during holiday weekends. People are out having fun and drinking with their friends and then they get into their cars and forget to be responsible drivers. My heart goes out to the families that lost a loved one; I know how devastating the effects of a wrongful death can be. I also hope that those that suffered from personal injuries recover quickly.
