Bus Passengers Held Hostage by Downed Power Lines | Everett Personal Injury Lawyer
Working as a Renton auto crash lawyer in a Bellevue personal injury law firm, I realize that the roads are very dangerous. What many people fail to realize is that in addition to drunk driving, drowsy driving and distracted driving there is also a plethora of medical complications that can create a dangerous situation on the roads. An incident that occurred this morning appears to have been caused by a medical complication. This morning, Monday, November 29th trapped in a Pierce County Transit bus after live power lines fell on-top of the bus. Around 7:30 this morning the bus ran into a power pole in Spanaway, Washington at 168th Street East and 18th Avenue East. The 4 passengers and driver remained on the bus until the power to the power lines was cut and it was safe for them to evacuate. The passengers were taken to the Parkland Transit Center so they could continue their trip. It is speculated that the driver of the bus suffered a medical episode which may have led to the car crash, but there has not been a verdict and the case is still under investigate. Luckily there weren’t any injuries in this car crash. Auto accidents occurring from medical problems may seem like a myth worked up by Hollywood, but there are thousands of deaths and serious injuries every year because of medical problems. Heart attacks while driving, medication conflicts and epilepsy all make for dangerous driving situations, particularly when there is no way of knowing that the problem will arise. For your safety I urge you to not get behind the wheel if you are feeling faint, numb or drowsy. Also, protect yourself from other drivers by paying attention to the road around you and contacting 911 if a driver exhibits dangerous behavior. Leave a Reply |
