Working in personal injury law in Seattle and focusing on Kirkland auto accident cases I am shocked by the ridiculous number of hit-and-run accidents we have been reporting over the last few months.  On Christmas day, a young woman died in an Auburn hit-and-run accident after she was hit by a car while lying in the roadway, the driver was later identified as an 18-year-old girl who thought she had struck debris in the roadway. In another case a 15-year-old boy was killed as he slept in his bed when a Lacey hit-and-run driver slammed into his house. These are just two of the many fatal-hit-and run accidents plaguing our streets. Sadly, a popular musician was killed in a California hit-and-run accident last week.

Alex Kirst, a former drummer for rock musician Iggy Pop, died late last week after being the victim of a California hit and run accident. The accident happened January 13th near Palm Springs California. Kirst was found lying in the road around 11:30 pm and police were notified that a man lay in the valley road. Kirst sustained fatal injuries and died at the age of 47 years old.

It appears the vehicle did not break before or after the incident, instead the driver fled the scene leaving little information.

Police are on the lookout for a white Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon with missing headlights– anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to contact California police.

Alex Kirst is a Canadian native who was a drummer for The Nymphs and Iggy Pop and had played the desert fest as a solo artist in 2003.

The valley roadways have proven to be extremely dangerous with six pedestrians killed along the stretch in the last seven weeks alone. A high number of deaths occurring in one area is often a sign of a dangerous road and more likely than not, the state is responsible for making the road safer. If you have lost a loved one due to a dangerous road do not hesitate to contact a Washington wrongful death lawyer to review your case.  For more information on wrongful death please click on the link above and reserve your FREE copy of my book “In Case of Death: The Shocking Truth About Washington Wrongful Death”, free to Washington residents.
