Car Collides into Edmonds Home, Driver Flees | Edmonds Car Accident Lawyer

As an Edmonds car accident attorney and Washington personal injury lawyer, I have seen many hit and run car accidents. However, I have never heard of an instance where the driver fled and left behind a passenger. This happened in Edmonds when a man crashed into a townhome causing massive property damage and then fled the scene.

The driver went through a fence, hit a tree, and then crashed into the living room of a townhouse. When police arrived, a male passenger in his 30s was still in the car.
The collision occurred at about 2 a.m. on 216th Street SW.

The owner of the townhome was temporarily trapped on the second floor until officers arrived on the scene. There was considerable damage. It will be several hours before they can safely remove the vehicle without further damaging the house.

No one was seriously injured. The passenger was taken to Stevens Hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators are currently looking for the driver and have a collected evidence for a DNA test.

Alcohol is believed to have contributed to the incident. The passenger of the vehicle was intoxicated when police arrived. It is possible that the driver also may have been drinking earlier that night.

As this instance demonstrates, drinking and driving is never a good idea. It can lead to some of the worst auto accidents and cause a considerable amount of damage.
