Car Crash Lawyer Seattle | School Kids Hurt in Seattle Bus Accident
Monday morning, KOMOnews.com reported on three elementary school students were injured when their school bus was t-boned by a Volkswagon Jetta at Beacon Ave and 38th Ave in Seattle. In the vast majority of all cases, our children are safe on the school bus, however, as a Seattle car accident attorney, I know that occasionally, something goes awry. Whenever we put our children on the bus to school, we tend to hold the expectation that their safety is in good hands, as of course it usually is. This bus contained only nine students, three of whom were taken by ambulance to Harborview Medical Center while the rest were taken to school on another bus. The driver of the VW was taken to Swedish Hospital. Fortunately, this accident was not much worse that it was. This accident occurred in Seattle, but it could easily have happened in one of our outlying communities like Bothell. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports some information which indicates that school buses are an extremely safe mode of transportation. Out of the tens of thousands of traffic fatalities every year, only about 10 of involve occupants of school buses. While this is an extremely low number, certainly any number higher than zero is too many. Part of the reason for this is that injuries to children in vehicle accidents can sometimes have lifelong consequences both physically and emotionally. If your children have been injured in a school bus accident, you need to contact a Seattle child injury attorney as soon as possible. Obviously, the first priority is your child’s health and emotional well-being, but with the possibly long-lasting health concerns, it is important to protect your family’s legal rights as well. Jason Epstein is an experienced, dynamic bus accident attorney who can work with insurance companies to help ensure your child’s health, and protect your family’s legal interests.
