Collision Sends 70-Year-Old Pedestrian to Harborview | Bellevue Pedestrian Accident Lawyer
During the summer, we are all much more prone to enjoy the sun by going for a nice walk around the city. As a Seattle car crash lawyer and King County pedestrian accident attorney, I fully understand this mentality and absolutely encourage the exercise, but want to make sure people are properly informed about the reality of fatal pedestrian collisions. In an incident where a car hits a person, there is little doubt about who will receive the most harmful damage. It is important to always be on the look-out as a pedestrian, although as was the case Friday afternoon in Bellevue, sometimes there is nothing a pedestrian can do. A 70-year-old woman was critically injured after being hit by a car while waiting for a bus in Bellevue on 119th Ave. S.E. in the 4700 block. The car was driven by a 53-year-old man from Everett, who apparently blacked out, causing him to swerve across the center line and over the curb before hitting the woman. The impact was so great that it sent the woman flying about 50 feet into a neighboring yard. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center where she is being treated for multiple serious injuries. It is not yet known if the driver was intoxicated when the accident occurred. I wish the woman the best of luck in her recovery and hope it is safe and speedy. A pedestrian collision like this will certainly warrant a personal injury case, so it is important for the woman and her family to get an experienced personal injury attorney to fight for them.
