Deadly Head-On Tacoma Car Accident on I-5 | Tacoma Car Accident Lawyer

Sunday morning, at around 2 a.m, a Tacoma car accident took the life of a 24-year-old man in a head on collision. The car accident happened on Interstate 5 near the Berkeley Avenue exit when Garrett M. Felt of Orting drove in the wrong direction in the northbound lane and crashed into an on- coming semi-truck.

Unfortunately, Felt was instantly killed at the scene of the collision. State Troopers say the man was not wearing a seatbelt.

The 60-year-old driver of the semi-truck escaped the scene unharmed. He claims there was nothing he could have done to avoid the crash.

Felt managed to drive 6 miles in the wrong direction before colliding into the semi- truck that was lugging 59,000 pounds of cargo. Witnesses say he almost hit numerous other vehicles on I-5 as well.

Investigators are still determining what may have caused the crash. So far, there is no evidence that drugs or alcohol were involved.

Three northbound lanes on I-5 were closed for several hours. They reopened at about 7 a.m Sunday morning.
