Driver Flees Scene of Rollover Car Accident | Washington Car Crash Attorney

As a Bellevue personal injury attorney, I have seen many hit-and-run accidents during my practice. Not even a week ago, a man drove into an Edmonds home and then fled. Well, something similar happened this weekend.

Sunday morning, the driver in a rollover collision left the scene after injuring a 22-year-old passenger.

The incident occurred at about 4:45 a.m. in Yakima. The man was driving eastbound on State Route 24 when he tried to make a turn onto Birchfield Road.

Instead, the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee veered off the road and rolled over.

When officers arrived on the scene, the driver was nowhere to be found. The passenger of the vehicle, Arturo Almaguer, was not wearing a seatbelt and was seriously injured. He was rushed to Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center. No information has been released on the man’s current condition.

Investigators believe drugs or alcohol may have contributed to the rollover accident. They are still investigating the scene.

We hope Arturo Almaguer has a full recovery. Unfortunately, rollover accidents are fairly common. Oftentimes, they cause a great deal of physical and psychological trauma for anyone involved. We urge everyone to drive responsibly to help make our roads safer.
