Just this morning a drunk driver caused a serious auto accident that trapped three people in their wrecked van and brought the morning commute to a crawl for hours.

Police have reason to believe accident on I-90 early this morning was caused by a drunk driver. Around 5:45 this morning, Friday September 24th a drunk driver, driving a white pick-up truck, rear-ended a mini-van carrying seven passengers in the HOV lane on East bound I-90 by West Lake Sammamish Parkway. The drunk driver was speeding when it hit the van and the force sent both vehicles rolling into the ditch.

Three of the vans passengers were trapped in the inverted vehicle and rescue crews had to remove them. Luckily none of the victims in this Seattle auto accident suffered life-threatening injuries.

This auto accident left the two right hand lanes blocked for quite some time while rescue crews freed the trapped victims and investigated the incident. The accident also slowed the West bound lanes as drivers slowed, distracted by the lights and commotion on the opposite side of the freeway.
