Drunk Driver Crashes Into Furniture Store In Olympia

Drunk driving claimed another business last night in Olympia. Last night a 46-year-old man, whose name has not yet been released, crashed his van into through the front wall of Phyls Furniture in Olympia. The driver of the van then backed up and drove away, leaving behind a considerable amount of damage. Witnesses to the crash were able to take down his license plate number before he got away and Olympia police later tracked down the man and arrested him for suspicion of DUI and hit and run. The driver was lucky to not have caused any personal injuries, but the damage caused to the store front will make it difficult for the furniture store to open back up anytime soon.

In most cases, drunk driving will lead to serious injuries or even the wrongful death of an innocent victim, but it can also destroy lives in other ways. In this instance the drunk driver caused significant damage to another person’s livelihood, who knows when the workers and owner of Phyls Furniture will be able to get back to work and get back their source of income. Drunk driving is not only stupid it is selfish; if you are going out to drink always make sure that you have a safe ride home.
