Drunk Driver Seriously Injures Gig Harbor Teen
There are some drunk driving stories that you hear about that are so tragic you have to wonder why anyone would even consider driving intoxicated. As a Seattle wrongful death attorney working at a Renton auto accident law firm I help victims of the victims of drunk driving accidents get their life back after it has been so carelessly torn apart by a negligent driver. 17-year-old Jeremiah Jensen was a star athlete at Peninsula High School that ran cross country, played soccer and was training for his first Ironman Triathlon next month; now he is in the hospital fighting for his life because of a drunk driver. Jensen was riding his bike up Soundview Drive when slammed into a pickup truck that turned left in front of him. Jensen was unconscious when the medics arrived and was quickly transported to the nearest hospital for an emergency surgery so that doctors could drill a small hole into his skull to relieve pressure on his brain. He has been stabilized but because the pressure on his brain is still at dangerous levels, doctors continue to keep a close watch on Jensen. Gig Harbor Police arrested the driver and continue to hold him in jail and although he has not been charged police do believe that he was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Drunk driving is selfish and no one’s life is worth wherever you are trying to go. My heart goes out to Jeremiah and his family and I hope that he is able to have a full recovery and someday finish an Ironman Triathlon. Click here for tips on how to spot a drunk driver.
