A tragic Washington car accident took place Sunday evening, killing one woman and injuring four others. D.T., 46, was driving on SR- 97 late last night when she fell asleep at the wheel.

The vehicle strayed off the road toward the right curb. When she attempted to steer the car back toward the road, her van rolled over landing on the roof of the car. Sadly, Tahkeal did not survive the crash and died at the scene.

Three children were injured aged 2 through 11. The children were all taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, where they were treated.

R.T., 50, suffered only minor personal injuries which were treated at the scene of the car accident.

We offer our condolences to the family affected by this tragic auto accident. It is always difficult to hear news that yet another person has died as a result of a car accident. According to reports released by the Washington Traffic Safety Commission, 344 people died last year in auto related accidents. We can reduce the number of auto accident related wrongful deaths and personal injuries by always staying focused on the road.
