Dealing with Seattle car accidents over the years I have come to realize that Fatal auto accidents have become commonplace in our society. Even with all of the driving legislation enforced to help people make better choices and new technology and safety features created to help protect us–these horrible reminders of the dangers of the road become even sadder.

A fatal auto accident in Oak Harbor on September 3rd claimed the lives of three and injured three others. Around 9 p.m. On Friday a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer was driving north on Highway 20 nearOak Harbor when the driver, 21-year-old Jordyn Weichert crossed the center line. Weichert’s Blazer collided with a 2004 Subaru Outback. The Outback, driven by 33-year-old Brian Wood of Vancouver B.C., was headed southbound when it was struck head-on.

Both vehicles were totaled in the fatal car accident. Wood, the driver of the Outback was instantly killed in the car accident along with two passengers in the Blazer: 25-year-old Jacob Quistork and 26-year-old Frances Malloy. The passenger of the Outback, 31-year-old Erin Wood was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center along with 22-year-old Blazer passenger Smantha Bowling with serious injuries.

Weichert, the driver of the Blazer was treated for his injuries at Whidbey General Hospital.

Investigation into the accident is ongoing and it is believed drugs or alcohol could have been a factor in this fatal Seattle car accident.

Losing a loved family member or friend is an incredibly painful experience.  Whether it be in a car accident or not, the last thing that you and your family want to have to deal with or worry about is legal issues and complications.  You deserve to know that the legal situation will be taken care of with professionalism and respect.  Because I believe so strongly in this, I co-authored a book with attorney Patrick J. Kang entitled ‘In Case of Death: Straight Talk on Washington Wrongful Death.  We have made this book available free of charge to Washington residents and it can be found by clicking the preceding link.
