Federal Way Hit and Run Car Accident Critically Injures Pedestrian | Seattle Car Accident Lawyer
Auto accidents are something we never want to hear about. When a car accident is a hit and run it is even tougher to hear about because it means someone did not have the decency to stay at the scene and take responsibility for their actions. Just before 7 o’clock Wednesday night a 59-year-old man was driving his Dodge Dakota pickup truck on Southwest 356th in Federal Way, Washington. At the same time two pedestrians, a 16-year-old boy from Tacoma and a 20-year-old man from Kent were attempting to cross the street. As they were crossing the street to get to a bus stop they were struck by the man in his pickup truck. The 16-year-old was released without any serious personal injuries while the 20-year-old man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His injuries were described as life-threatening and we do not yet know of his status today. After hitting the two pedestrians, the man fled the scene. He was later found at a home not too far from the site of the crash. Police reported that the man had also been taken to Harborview but did not have any serious life threatening personal injuries. Police are also investigating whether or not alcohol was a factor in the car accident. We hope the 20-year-old has a full and quick recovery and wish the best for all victims involved and their families. It would be terrible to discover that alcohol was involved in this incident. If it was, this man should be charged and punished for his driving drunk as well as his decision to flee the scene of the accident. Please drive safely and always watch out for pedestrians.
