Four Marysville Residents Killed in Tragic Drunk Driving Accident | Seattle Wrongful Death Lawyer

On Sunday, November 29th, a community was changed forever as four lives were wrongfully taken. The four victims were driving a Hyundai near the intersection of 108th Street Northeast and Highway 9 in Marysville, Washington. A drunk driver in a Ford Explorer ran a stop sign, police suspect he also may have been speeding, and crashed into the four victims’ car. After the crash, the suspect got out of his car and ran from the scene. He ended up returning to the scene shortly after.

The suspect allegedly had a blood alcohol level of 0.123 and admitted to drinking eight beers before driving his car home. The legal limit in Washington is .08.

The victim’s were two couples, who were also neighbors and close friends. One of the men was the head Athletic Trainer at Mariner High School in Everett. The community, families, and school district are mourning the loss of great parents, friends, and a very respected and loved teacher.

We have written countless articles asking everyone to refrain from, and warning of the dangers of, drunk driving. Unfortunately, a tragedy like this still occurs. It is so sad to see four innocent lives taken because of someone else’s poor choices. The suspect will most likely be charged with vehicular homicide, and he may spend significant time in jail. Drinking and driving should not be tolerated under any circumstance. When you see stories of families and friends dealing with wrongful deaths caused by drunk driving car accidents, you would think that it would wake people up and have an impact on their future actions. It is so senseless. I hope I never have to write about an event like this again.
