Gussner Pleads Guilty In Drunk Driving Wrongful Death Of Four Year Old | Seattle Personal Injury Lawyer

In his first court appearance related to the tragic wrongful death of a 4 year-old boy, and the serious injury of the boy’s mother, Dion Gussner took responsibility for his actions. He admitted that he was drunk and texting when he caused the fatal accident. Gussner’s sentence is mandated by the California Courts. He will serve 16 years in prison.

Gussner had previously been arrested twice for DUI. Sadly he didn’t learn from those previous arrests for the same crime he committed on the tragic night he made the same bad decision again. This time, his poor decision had consequences more severe than just spending the night in jail. A young family will never be the same again, and a life was cut short before it really even began.

Now that this chapter of the story is over all of those whose lives have been impacted can begin to put the pieces back together. Often times, the healing process can’t begin until the criminal prosecution process has ended. Fortunately, nobody will have to go through that in this case. Gussner and his family and friends now know what he did and how much time he will serve. The victims can start to rebuild their lives after their horrible loss. They won’t have to keep re-living the accident during the criminal trial. I hope they are able to move on and somehow find comfort.
