Head-On Collision in Oso, Wa Results in Wrongful Death of Passenger | Seattle Personal Injury Lawyer
Initial reports indicate that a man driving a Buick crossed the double yellow center dividing line around 5:30 Monday and collided with an oncoming dump truck resulting in the wrongful death and serious injury of his passenger. The driver of the Buick a 49 year-old Arlington man, died at the scene. A 27-year-old male passenger in the Buick was removed from the wreckage and taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with possible life threatening injuries. The accident occurred on State Route 530 just outside of the town of Oso, Washington. The driver of the dump truck was uninjured. Police state that they do not believe drugs or alcohol where involved in the collision. Accidents involving crossing the center line are much more likely to occur on two lane highways where no center median exists, especially on curves. Whenever operating a vehicle on these types of roadways extra caution should be taken to avoid collisions. Not only does one need to be sure that they don’t cross the center line, but you should also stay extra vigilant watching for oncoming drivers who may stray over the line.
