The string of hit and run accidents started Tuesday, December 14th when the driver of an SUV failed to navigate a turn as he sped through an intersection crashing into a house in Lacey, Washington.  The driver fled from the scene on foot at around 12:30 am. 16-year-old, Austin Blankenship was killed in the accident as the hit and run driver crashed into his bedroom as he slept. A 27-year-old, Bobby Hicks, was later arrested for the hit and run after a passenger in the vehicle was located.

On Thursday, December 22nd another house suffered from a hit and run driver when the driver failed to stop at a traffic stop in Mercer Island, and instead sped off, slamming into a Mercer Island home at the 6000 block of Island Crest Way. The driver then fled the scene. The house suffered extensive damage to the living room; luckily nobody was injured in this incident.

In Tukwila, December 23rd three pedestrians were struck by a hit and run driver near the Southcenter Mall. The accident occurred around 5:40 pm at Andover Park West at Strander Boulevard. The driver left the scene, but was later tracked down. The three pedestrians suffered minor injuries.

The most recent hit and run accident occurred on Christmas day in Auburn, December 25th. A 28-year-old woman suffered fatal injuries in the hit and run accident. She was found in the 1200 block of Auburn Way South, lying in the road with severe injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. There is little information about the victim or the vehicle that delivered the fatal blow. Investigators are asking that if anyone has information on the fatal hit and run to contact the police.
