Insurance Fraud- Issaquah Woman Pleads Guilty| Issaquah Auto Accident Lawyer
Auto insurance is required by law in order to better protect the victims of severe auto accidents and help them get back on their feet after a car crash. After spending the last decade fighting for the rights of auto accident victims as a Kent car crash lawyer and Bellevue wrongful death attorney I understand how massive the medical bills and other expenses can be after an auto accident. Insurance fraud cases, however, make it very difficult for victims of auto accidents to receive just compensation for their injuries. A 60-year-old Issaquah woman pleaded guilty to insurance fraud last week. Linda Ann Rose has been charged with three counts of insurance fraud after claiming severe back pain from a minor auto accident. Rose was driving in a parking lot in November of 2004 when her car was struck by an SUV backing out of a parking space. The SUV was moving at a slow speed, but Rose went to several doctors after the incident with complaints of back pain. Rose claimed that the accident injured her back so badly she had to undergo back surgery and demanded money from all three insurance carriers the other driver had. Rose sent prior medical records claiming she had previous knee problems, but no other ailments and received $800,000 total from two of the driver’s insurance providers. Insurance scandals such as these make it difficult for auto accident victims to receive fair compensation for their injuries. Insurance companies are untrusting of every claim and go out of their way to disprove claims and pay out as little as possible- regardless of how severe the injury may be. Because of these types of cases Insurance Companies will often require Independent Medical Examinations or IME’s, in which a physician employed by the insurance company examines the victim. If you have been injured in an auto accident and are facing an Independent Medical Examination do not go in it alone. I have written a short tutorial which will help you prepare for the exam; this is available FREE by clicking on the link above. Leave a Reply |
