Local Man Charged in October 2008 Crash | Seattle Car Crash Attorney

A Puyallup man has been charged with reckless driving in a fatal car accident.

On October 30, 2008, 52-year-old Gary Ward caused a car accident that killed two people. Ward was driving a Chrysler 300 northbound on Interstate 5 when he lost control of the vehicle and drifted into oncoming traffic. He hit four southbound vehicles.

Sadly, Robert Galaviz, 55, and Georgina Steele, 61, died at the scene of the accident. Three others were seriously injured and were taken to nearby hospitals.

The incident took place at the 320th Street exit at around 6 p.m.

At the time, officials believed Ward was intoxicated and was suspected of vehicular homicide. However, blood tests revealed he had not been drinking, but had been smoking marijuana.

Ward was also previously diagnosed with a medical condition which causes him to faint. As a result, he faced milder charges.
