Man Drives Wrong Way on I-5 | Kent Auto Accident Lawyer
As a Seattle auto accident lawyer, I know all too well that careless mistakes, like turning into oncoming traffic, can have very serious and negative consequences. According to KOMOnews.com, a man driving on I-5 in the wrong direction in Olympia on Christmas Day was the cause of at least one auto accident. The 86-year-old driver turned the wrong direction onto Highway 101 at Crosby Boulevard, and then proceeded onto I-5 at the interchange. He ended up driving south in the northbound lanes of I-5. At least one other driver crashed in the attempt to swerve around the man’s car. A state trooper was able to stop the driver near Trosper Road and cite him for negligent driving. The elderly man was also put in for a license re-evaluation. Fortunately, no one appears to have been seriously injured in the incident. Every year, millions of people are injured or even killed in auto accidents across the country and in local neighborhoods like Kent. You know that every time you get in a car, or even walk or cycle on the street, there is a chance of an accident. Most accidents are not fatal of course, but there certainly is no need to add to the risk by making negligent and careless driving mistakes like turning the wrong way down the street, or getting going the wrong direction on the interstate. While I would never wish for anyone to lose their freedom and independence, I hope that this incident will serve to make this driver more careful in the future. If you have been injured, or lost a loved one, in an auto accident in which another driver was negligent, speak with a Kent auto accident lawyer to discuss your options. At Premier Law Group, my colleagues and I are dedicated to helping families recover the financial compensation that they need to return to their normal lives after serious car crashes. While your first priority will of course be your health, know that that insurance company may try not to pay for all of your expenses, in the interest of its own bottom line. Furthermore, if you have missed work, insurance may not cover lost wages. I know how to work with the legal system to ensure that all of the costs associated with your crash are covered.
