Man Killed in Fatal Northgate Auto Accident | Seattle Auto Accident Attorney

Although our society has become very comfortable with the concept of driving cars at high speeds, it is important to realize that auto accidents are both dangerous and common. Working for many years as a Seattle auto accident lawyer and King County personal injury attorney, I have handled a lot of cases involving car accidents. Distracted-driving and drunk-driving lead to many of these incidents, but sometimes outside conditions such as poor visibility can lead to a momentary lapse in judgment and cause a fatal auto accident.

Early in the morning last Sunday, a 27-year-old man was killed in an auto accident as he crashed into a tree in North Seattle. The accident occurred at 1:33 a.m. at the intersection of 24th Ave. NE and NE Northgate way, as the driver struggled to negotiate a turn. Two passengers in the vehicle were taken to Harborview Medical Center, with non-life threatening injuries. A dog was also in the vehicle, and has no serious injuries as well.

Hearing news stories about a tragic death such as this is always difficult, and our condolences go out to the driver’s family and friends. An accident like this, acts as a reminder to me that driving late at night and into the early morning can be much riskier than during the day. With low visibility, a driver has less time to react to what he or she sees in front of them. Losing a loved family member or friend is an incredibly painful experience.
