Melrose Place Actress Involved in Fatal Drunk Driving Accident | Seattle Wrongful Death Lawyer
As a Seattle personal injury lawyer, I encounter wrongful death car accidents far too often. Little compares, however, to a life lost to a drunk driver who had been involved in numerous accidents already that same night. Melrose Place Actress Amy Locane has been charged with vehicular manslaughter after hitting the passenger side of a Mercury Milan as it attempted to turn into a driveway. Passenger Helene Seeman was pronounced dead at the scene while driver Fred Seeman was air lifted to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition. This accident occurred after Locane had engaged in a hit and run with another vehicle at an intersection. Locane fled the scene- while the victim followed and reported the incident to the police from a cell phone. Reportedly, Locane also ran into several mail boxes before her final collision with the Seeman’s vehicle. Everyday we commute we place ourselves at risk- an earthquake may collapse a bridge while we drive over, maybe our car or that of the person behind us has faulty brakes, a deer may run out in the road and give us little time to stop— these are all legitimate possibilities, yet the thing we worry about most is whether or not someone is driving drunk or distracted- both of which are completely preventable. We are very sorry to learn of this drunk driving accident and offer our condolences to the victim’s friends and family. For anyone dealing with a Wrongful Death at the hands of a drunk or distracted driver I want to offer you a guide written by myself and my colleague Patrick J. Kang: In Case of Death: Straight Talk on Washington Wrongful Death.
