For some reason holiday weekends always seem to have a higher amount of auto accidents than any other time. People who are out enjoying the time off and having a good time tend to be less responsible than they would usually be when they get behind the wheel of their car. The numbers are in for Memorial Day weekend and the amount of auto accidents and fatalities is scary. Statewide the accident rate is even higher and four people were killed in accidents over the weekend. One of the most tragic accidents was the bus rollover that killed two people and injured 21 others. A few years ago Washington State Patrol adopted a new program called Target Zero, which is trying to bring the number of fatalities and personal injuries down to zero by the year 2030 by getting dangerous drivers off the roads.
