It is upsetting to think how many lives are lost each year in motorcycle accidents. Needless to say, riding a motorcycle is much riskier than driving a car. Motorcyclists expose themselves to a whole host of dangers that other drivers don’t need to worry about. However, it is a risk that many continue to take for the thrill of the ride.

Unfortunately, a Coeur d’Alene man was killed last night in a Washington motorcycle accident along Interstate 90. Officials spotted him around 7 a.m. this morning.

According to the State Patrol, Thomas Spencer, 25, was riding a 2006 Honda motorcycle in the eastbound lanes when he lost control of his vehicle, crashing into a wire fence, power box and post.

Sadly, Spencer was thrown from the vehicle and landed in a field near the Appleway on-ramp, west of Liberty Lake. The wreckage was later discovered by a semi-truck driver who immediately notified police.

The scene is currently being investigated. So far, officials believe the collision happened when Spencer struggled through a left turn.
