Motorcyclist Killed by Drunk-Driver | Bellevue Motorcycle Accident Attorney

Everyone knows the dangers of drunk driving. However, many continue to take the senseless risk, endangering not only their own lives, but the lives of everyone on the road. This past weekend, a drunk driver caused a terrible motorcycle accident, which ended in a wrongful death.

The fatal incident happened in Hampstead, N.H. when a woman was struck and killed by a drunk driver during a motorcycle charity ride.

Marceline Weaver, 49, was riding on the back of her husband’s motorcycle when a black SUV hit the Harley Davidson. Investigators say the 46-year-old driver, Randall Stewart, was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Sadly, Marceline did not survive the crash. Her husband, William Weaver, was taken to Lawrence General Hospital, where he was treated and later released.

During the collision, the drunk driver struck a second motorcycle, injuring James Sousa. The man was airlifted to Beth Israel Hospital for treatment.

Randall Stewart has been arrested and charged with negligent homicide, aggravated DUI, and two counts of reckless conduct. His bail is set at $30,000.

This story becomes even more tragic as this is not the first time Stewart has been cited for driving while intoxicated. So many lives are taken by drunk drivers with previous DUI convictions. In spite of going through the extensive drug and alcohol classes, attending AA meetings, and losing their license or being required to have a breathalyzer installed on their vehicle they still continue to operate a vehicle under the influence and sadly it often ends in the loss of a life.
