In Sedro-Wolley, an auto accident occurred on New Year’s day at approximately 8:15 pm when the driver of a 1987 Ford Mustang lost control of his vehicle and smashed into a propane tank in the yard of a Sedro-Wolley house.

The accident occurred at 26636 Minker Road in Sedro-Wooley. The impact immediately caused the propane tank to explode which quickly caught a shed and house on fire. David L. Dalgliesh, the 45-year-old driver of the Mustang, started to walk away from his vehicle after the first explosion when a second explosion occurred, sending the man into the air and flipping him3 times before he hit the ground. A neighbor quickly ran to Dagliesh and helped him away from the flames. Emergency crews rushed the driver to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

The explosion destroyed the mustang, house and shed and also burned the power lines and nearby brush.

State patrol has reason to believe the driver was under the influence at the time of the accident.
