North Carolina Teen Dies in Texting Car Accident | Seattle Car Accident Attorney
Recent studies have shown that teens are the most likely take their eyes off the road to read or send a text message. Unfortunately, as we all know by now, this seemingly innocent habit can be deadly. As a Seattle car accident attorney and Bellevue personal injury lawyer, I have seen the horrifying consequences of distracted driving far too many times. These facts and accidents resulted in me founding Teens Against Distracted Driving. In Asheville, NC, another teenager was killed in a texting while driving car accident. Officers say Ashley Johnson, 16, was reading a text message when she drove into on-coming traffic, hitting a Ford truck. The tragic accident happened last Monday on Long Shoals Road. Johnson was critically injured and was taken to Mission Hospital. A day after the crash, she died in the intensive care unit. Investigators say speed was also a factor in the deadly crash. Johnson was driving 52 mph in a 45 mph speed zone. We are very sorry to learn of this fatal crash. Allison was in the 10th grade at Buncombe County Early College and was already working toward an associate’s degree. It is always difficult to learn of lives lost in auto accidents. The last thing you want to worry about in these situations is legal issues. In an attempt to provide you with much deserved help and assistance, I have co-authored a book with attorney Patrick J. Kang which is a guide for families of Washington wrongful death victims. The book is called, In Case of Death: Straight Talk on Washington Wrongful Death, and is available at no charge to Washington residents by clicking on the preceding link. Leave a Reply |
