Pedestrian Killed in Capitol Hill Accident | Seattle Wrongful Death Lawyer

Throughout my career, I have seen many tragic Seattle pedestrian accidents. So many, in fact that I have co-authored a book with attorney Patrick J. In Capitol Hill, a 91-year-old woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck Monday afternoon. The accident took place at the intersection of Harvard Avenue East and East Thomas Street.

The 34-year-old driver was backing into a parking space when he struck the woman.

Unfortunately, the victim was seriously injured. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she later died.

According to police, the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident. He has been arrested and faces vehicular assault charges.

Drinking and driving leads to some of the worst traffic accidents. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there were 13,846 alcohol related traffic fatalities in 2008. Remember, even small amounts of alcohol can greatly impair driving and cause catastrophic auto accidents.

Hopefully the drunk driver is punished for his selfish and careless behavior.
