Port Angeles Teen Hit Running Across Street
As the weather finally starts to get nice in Western Washington people have started to venture out of their caves to enjoy the beautiful blue skies. I know how much we all enjoy the sun, but as a King County personal injury attorney working at a Seattle pedestrian accident law firm, I know just how dangerous the roads can be for pedestrians. Saturday morning a man was struck and injured trying to cross over I-5, where pedestrians are strictly prohibited. Yesterday another pedestrian was struck in Port Angeles after running out into the road without checking for oncoming traffic. The driver of the Dodge Dakota pickup truck was not cited because he had no time to stop before hitting Harper, who ran out from behind a large delivery truck. Harper was conscious at the scene and able to talk to medics, but was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center where he is now listed in satisfactory condition. It is important for all of us to take precautions whether we are driving, walking or riding a bike. We all have safety laws that are in place to stop pedestrian accidents like this from happening. My thoughts go out to the family of Zachary Harper and I hope for a speedy recovery. I also hope that other pedestrians see this and make smarter, safer choices when out on the roads. Leave a Reply |
