What can we do to reduce the amounts of Seattle car accidents? The media has recently increased their education on the dangers of texting while driving, many others around the country are doing their part to spread the word. One of them being a 16-year-old student from Denver, Colorado named Alex Calderon.

Alex, an aspiring filmmaker, created a 30 second public service announcement that she entered into a state-wide contest. Her video was chosen as the winner for being the most effective anti-texting while driving PSA. Alex describes her video as ‘jolting’ and said that it has caused people to get teary-eyed when they view the service announcement.

Alex said, “I never want to tickle anyone’s ear or sugar-coat anything because this is what it is. It’s more realistic.”

And she is right, texting while driving is very realistic, and very dangerous.
