Puyallup Homeowners Awaken to Find House in Flames | Washington Car Accident Lawyer
As a Bellevue car accident attorney and Seattle personal injury lawyer, I have seen many catastrophic car collisions that have caused significant property damage. This weekend was no exception. Early Sunday morning, a teenage driver crashed into a Puyallup home. The incident happened at about 3 a.m. Inside the house, a grandmother and her grandson were fast asleep when the car drove through their front living room, starting a fire. The 19-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle on Fruitland Avenue. She hit an embankment and then an electric transformer before crashing into the home. Although, her vehicle was completely destroyed in the collision, she walked away with only minor injuries. Luckily, a neighbor heard the crash in time and rushed over to help. Otherwise, thing could have been much worse for the home owners who were asleep in the burning home. Investigators believe the woman was driving under the influence of alcohol. They are still awaiting the results of a toxicology test to determine the cause of the crash. We are happy to report that no one else was injured in the collision. However, there was considerable property damage. Drinking and driving is never a good idea. Each year thousands of people are killed in drunk-driving accidents. On average, about one-third of traffic fatalities are caused by drunk drivers. Help keep the roads safe. Please, never drink and drive.
