As a Washington car accident attorney and Bellevue personal injury lawyer, I have seen many disastrous Seattle motorcycle accidents. This weekend there was a horrifying accident in Seattle, which left one man injured.

On Saturday, a 49-year-old motorcyclist crashed into a guardrail and went over the side of it falling off the overpass and onto Interstate 5. The accident happened at about 11 a.m.

The Puyallup man was driving over the Michigan Street overpass when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the concrete guardrail. The man was thrown from his red 2007 Suzuki. He fell over the guardrail and landed in the HOV lanes of Interstate 5.

Luckily, he was not hit by any oncoming vehicles. He was rushed to Harborview Medical Center, but there is no word on his current condition.

Officials say the man was traveling at high speeds, which contributed to the motorcycle accident.

We wish the rider a full recovery. As summer approaches, we are beginning to see more motorcycles on the roads. We would like to remind all motorcyclists to drive responsibly and to always wear a helmet on the road. According to a study conducted by Michigan State University, motorcycle helmets reduce the chance of death in an accident by 30 percent. So, please never leave the house without one.
