High speeds and fast turns often result in a deadly vehicle rollover. Two men were badly injured in a single-car rollover on Monday night, November 30^th. It was about 10:25pm when they were driving along 132^nd Avenue SE in Auburn and the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over multiple times before it came to a complete stop. King County Medical had to cut the men out of their seatbelts and treat them on the scene. Both men were listed in serious condition after they were transported to Harborview Medical Center.

Fortunately, the victims of this rollover were wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident and this alone likely saved their lives. Some vehicles are more likely to roll over than others because of the way they are made. For example, SUV’s have a higher rate of rollover than smaller passenger cars because of their height and lack of maneuverability. Other factors that play a role are distance between the wheels, placement of the engine, durability of suspension, and the weight of certain accessories like the sunroof. Drivers should always be knowledgeable of the vehicle they are driving and be careful not to exceed its capabilities.
