San Diego Wrongful Death – Fault of the City? | Seattle Personal Injury Lawyer
After practicing personal injury law as a Seattle wrongful death attorney and Renton pedestrian accident lawyer for about ten years I realize all of the factors that can contribute to an accident. Fatal auto accidents occur for a variety of reasons. Mostly, auto accidents occur due to driver inattention, or driver negligence such as speeding or drinking and driving, sometimes, however, dangerous roadways can prove to be just as serious a culprit. San Diego personal injury attorney Ross Jurewitz recently filed a lawsuit against the City of Sand Diego for the fatal pedestrian accident that led to the death of Virginia Ortega. March 18th 2010 Ortega stepped into the intersection at Pacific Highway and West Harbor Drive where she was hit by a tour bus. The bus driver did not see the pedestrian and had no idea of the accident until a passenger yelled “stop!” at which point the bus driver exited the bus and performed CPR on Ortega. Ortega was rushed to the hospital where she later died in an emergency surgery as a result of her injuries. The lawsuit claims that Ortega’s accident followed at least two others at the same intersection and is pushing the City to recognize the danger of the intersection and take action to fix the problems before another life is lost. You can read more about the fatal accident on the San Diego injury lawyer blog. In cases of wrongful death it is difficult to fight the battle alone- particularly in instances such as these where there is an evident pattern showing the road way to be unsafe. If you or anyone your know has faced a Washington wrongful death I urge you to read the book: In Case of Death: Straight Talk on Washington Wrongful Death, before you take any further steps.
