As a Seattle car accident lawyer I have seen first-hand just how dangerous road rage can be, and I think we all remember the recent tragedy that killed an innocent man who was hit by a Seattle drunk driver trying to force another vehicle off the road. Driving is a privilege not a right, but there are too many drivers out there that think that the road belongs to them and that everyone else should get out of their way.

Tuesday morning police were called to the 2800 block of MLK Jr. Way South to handle a serious road rage incident that began with a collision and ended with the suspect pulling out a 9mm handgun. According to police the suspect a 28-year-old female smashed into the front side panel of the victim’s car driven by a 34-year-old woman. Both vehicles pulled into a parking lot and the suspect got out of her car holding a handgun and yelling at the victim. Words were exchanged and the suspect put her gun back in her car before proceeding to try and repeatedly punch the victim, who had by then called the police. The police were able to defuse the situation and recovered the gun from the suspect’s vehicle before placing her under arrest. Fortunately no one was hurt, but I can only imagine how shaken up the victim must be.

As a Seattle car accident attorney I believe that road rage is a completely unacceptable behavior and can lead to a car accident causing serious personal injuries and in many cases death. Tailgating and trying to run people off the road because they upset you is definitely not the right way to handle any situation.
