On Wednesday, December 2nd, a woman was hit by a car and suffered severe, life-threatening injuries. The driver left the scene which was at South Andover Street and Rainier Avenue South. Police later identified, found, and apprehended the driver. Police say that the man may have been drunk as his car drove up onto the sidewalk around 7 PM and struck the woman. The woman was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle to treat her serious and life threatening injuries. The man was also taken to Harborview, where he will be tested for impairment by drugs or alcohol. The testing performed on the driver of the vehicle will tell if drugs or alcohol were in the man’s system. How many senseless injuries and deaths will it take before everyone gets the message? It is simple. Do not get behind the wheel when you are impaired. Because of his careless driving, for whatever reason, a woman is now suffering from serious personal injuries.
