As a Seattle car accident lawyer I know that making sure that your tires are fully inflated is something that too many people forget to do on a regular basis. Many drivers forget or don’t realize how quickly a situation can turn into tragedy when a tire pops when your vehicle is moving. A flat tire is annoying when your car is parked but when you are moving it can be deadly.

Sunday afternoon 17-year-old Tucker Johnson died when the van he was riding in got a flat tire and rolled onto the shoulder in Ritzville, Washington. 44-year-old Diana Vanquill was driving when one of the rear tires on her van blew out and she was unable to regain control of the vehicle. Vanquill and the three other passengers, who were ages 15 and under, sustained personal injuries and had to be transported to the hospital; Johnson, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Being able to handle a tire blowout is something that requires experience, but a rear-tire blowout is extremely hard to recover control from. With the front you still have some steering capabilities, but when a rear tire goes flat you have very little control. yes, we can not blame her for something she did not have any control over. Tucker will be forever missed and we all wish that he was still here with us on earth to be able to help us win our football game tomorrow night but instead he is with his mom and we know that is where god needs him to be. we will have a great game just for him and there are sooo many people who are there for the family if they need ANYTHING at all(: we miss our Tucker man but he’s in a much better place
