Seattle Woman Charged with Vehicular Homicide | Seattle Car Accident Lawyer
Fortunately, car accidents that result in death are not too common. Most people will also stop after an auto accident to exchange information and check for injuries. However, this is not always the case. A 46-year-old Seattle woman was charged with vehicular homicide in King County yesterday. She was also charged with a hit and run felony after she struck and killed a pedestrian on an I-5 ramp on October 9, 2009. After hitting Michael Lindsay, who was walking his dog near James Street in Seattle, the woman, Rose Dorsey, drove away and fled the scene. Michael Lindsay was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he later passed away. Police attempted to find and stop Dorsey soon after the accident. They ended up not having to look to hard because she ran into a semi-truck that was parked on the side of the road in Kent. The windshield of her Subaru Legacy was shattered when troopers found her, which she claimed happened earlier in the morning when she had started her car. Dorsey claimed that she did not hit Lindsay. She admitted that she had also consumed Whiskey around 6:30 that morning, however tests revealed that she was not drunk. Charging papers stated that her condition was caused by an anti-anxiety drug. Whatever the case, she hit a pedestrian, committed a crime, caused a wrongful death, and will now pay for her negligent and careless actions.
