SPD Gives Out 70 Bus Lane Violations On West Seattle Bridge

It seems like these days a lot of drivers conveniently forget or choose to ignore certain rules of the road because they don’t think that anyone will notice or that it just won’t make a big deal. Within two hours the ADRT caught 70 bus lane violators, one driver that was using a cell phone and two motorcyclists passing cars on the shoulder of the roadway.

Also, a motorcyclists passing on the shoulder is extremely dangerous because drivers generally do not check the shoulder next to them. If a motorcyclist is passing on the shoulder and a driver swerves to avoid something in the middle of the road the motorcyclist would get hit because the driver would have never even known they were there. Auto accidents and motorcycle accidents can happen in the blink of an eye and following the rules of the road is not only respectful to other drivers but it is the easiest thing you can do to prevent a completely avoidable accident.
