Stop Means Stop | Seattle Personal Injury Attorney
The purposeful or inadvertent running of red lights is a major cause of serious injuries and wrongful deaths in Washington. In fact, a recent nationwide study showed that in 2007 almost 900 people were killed and roughly153,000 were injured in crashes that involved red light running. As you can see, if we could solve this problem we could prevent 900 wrongful deaths and countless serious injuries every year. August 2nd through 8th is National Stop On Red week. This is courtesy of the National Campaign to Stop Red Light Running. Check out their website here. A recent study has shown that 69% of Americans support the use of “red-light cameras” at the most dangerous intersections in their states, while only 29% oppose them. This shows a commitment from our nation’s drivers to want to make the roads and intersections safer.
