Teen Girl Dies in Wrongful Death Auto Accident | Seattle Personal Injury Lawyer
A 15 year-old girl suffered fatal injuries in a wrongful death auto accident in Burlington, Skagit County. The girl died at the scene of the intersection accident. The wrongful death victim and another teenager were passengers in a vehicle driven by Donovan M. Brogan, 18, of Bellingham. Brogan was driving a Volvo which reportedly ran a stop sign at an intersection colliding with an F150 driven by a Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officer who was on duty at the time. The driver of the F150, Officer Jeffrey Lee, 56, was formerly a Washington State Patrol Sergeant. Brogan and the other teenager were taken by ambulance to Skagit Valley Hospital. Lee was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. The Washington State Patrol reports that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in this accident. The victim’s family should contact an experienced wrongful death attorney quickly in this matter. It will be important to preserve critical evidence which could be lost as time passes. The undeniable fact is that the victim was not driving, so this accident is almost certainly not her fault (provided she didn’t grab the steering wheel or do something else like that). From the initial report, it sounds as though the accident is probably Brogan’s fault, but only a thorough investigation will reveal all of the facts required to make that determination.
